Have you ever poured your heart out in a social media post for it to only get little or no engagement at all?
That can be hard to take, and some people will see this as a slap in the face. It’s not YOU or the context of what you said.
It’s the appearance of the post. Today, I am going to share with you how to make your post more easily readable, so it catches the attention you want and gets more engagement.
Keep Your Social Media Posts Short
Most people don’t have a lot of time to spend on social media. They get on, scrolling quickly through the posts in their news feed, and when they come across a post that catches their attention, they will stop to read it, if it’s easy to read.
If it’s more than four really long paragraphs, they will most likely keep moving on. To make your post easy to read, you want your paragraphs to only be one or two sentences.
Again, people don’t have a lot of time, and they like to skim through content for the main points rather than reading all of it.
How to Make Your Post Stand Out
If the social media platform you’re on has features for headers, italics, and bold text, use them. When you need to express emotion, use italics. When you need to make a strong point, bold the text.
Another way to make sure your post stands out is to use an image with it. You can create a graphic with a funny picture or a quote graphic using a sentence from the text of your post.
